Week 5 Reflection

I realized that I need more then what is given to me in class. I can't automatically understand what were doing in class. As much as I would love for that to happen its not going to happen! I need more note sheets and yes more homework..

I really like the class dont get me wrong, its just that I have a tough time understanding sometimes. But this week my teacher explained a lot not just to me nut to my entire class. Their were some people who don't fully apperciate what my teacher does for my class. My teacher puts so much effort into his teacherand i'm more then thankful to get a teacher that cares about his job and for the kids who he teaches.

Last Friday, we had our second assessment and let me just tell you that I did awful on it. I thought I understood the material but obviously I didn't. I started practicipating a lot because that how I learn.

I have a phobia of taking tests. Ever since I started taking tests in elementary school i've always been this way. I sucks because I usually fail and also because its embarrasing. Man I feel bed because i'm getting to deep into this blog.

The last thing I don't really understand is that "we have to apply" to re-take the assessment. What if we dont qualify to re-take it. Then if we dont qualify we'll flunk out of the class and possibly flunk out ofschool/ I know that sounds over dramatic but I have a very over imaginitve imagination. I alays look ahead.

But till next week, I'm over and out.

  1. Interesting points connecting the way you feel you learn to the way things unfold in the class. The "apply" for reassessment is a way to help students take it more seriously. It was actually a recommendation from last year's physics classes' students. The students last year noted (at the end of the year) that too many people took advantage of the system. They thought it was a privilege that there even was an opportunity for reassessment and they suggested a way to make it seem more like something to be taken seriously and not just something to be expected. Hopefully that makes some sense. We really value student feedback, especially when it is delivered constructively. You say you need more homework and notes, and I think we just need to get you into a work flow where you take advantage of the Google Drive more. That is a way where you can get the extra practice you want, and we'll look at it together before/after school one day. As far as test-taking goes, you might want to stop by with some of your classmates for a Q&A session after school one day and see if we can't clear up some of what you're experiencing.
